Repost from Shooting Aces

BlackBerry Is Going Down, Down, Down.

Blackberry Is Going Down

RIM (Research In Motion) has been warned by the Indonesian government for not fulfilling the government’s requests. In late November 2010, the Ministry of Communication, Tifatul Sembiring, posted in his Twitter account about the lack of RIM’s server in Indonesia that may bring the Blackberry users in Indonesia into negative contents.
Since the Blackberry’s account server in Indonesia is located in Canada, our government can’t monitor the users activity. Actually,it’s not fair to shut down the server of Blackberry, because some of the users did not use the “Browser” application service, some only use for the Blackberry Messenger service.
RIM has completed 4 out of 7 requests that the government of Indonesia gave. It is scheduled by the government to shut down the Blackberry service today (17/1), but until now there is no shown confirmation or activities about that schedule. There is no explainable reason that government give about this shut down. Until now people still use Blackberry.
Well, we got an update that the “Browser” application is still available for use but negative contents like adult sites was blocked. The sites that were blocked were sites that contain pornography, online gambling, phising/malware, SARA, and proxy. At least, our government had shown some effort in this problem and we think it’s going well.

thx for ShootingAces for posting this post. Haha

Review: Pirate Radio

Poster filmnya yang ngingetin gw ama Abbey Road. Hahaha.
Pirate Radio. Pelm Inggris tahun 2009 yang judul aslinya tuh The Boat That Rocked.

Tapi kyknya narkoba ga masuk deh. Numpang lewat doang. Hahaha...

Climaxnya (cieelah), pemerintah berhasil nemuin cara buat nutup mereka. Jadinya tuh, sinyal dari kapal radionya tuh ngalangin (baca: nutupin) sinyal SOS dari kapal2 nelayan. Akhirnya, di tahun 1967 dikeluarin deh, "MARINE OFFENCES ACT". Gw ga tau tuh apaan, soalnya gw males bukanya di wiki. Pokoknya, itu bikin kapal-kapal pirate radio jadi illegal di lautan Inggris (padahal lautan Inggris segede bagong). Pas mereka lagi kabur, eh, mesinnya meledak. Hahaha! Udah begitu DJnya masih ngotot lagi buat nyiarin lagu. Climaxnya yang bener-bener tuh, kan kapalnya mereka tenggelem, jadinya semua pada manjat tiang kapal, biar diselamatin ama fans yang udah siap-siap. Eh, loncat deh. Gw mau tuh loncat kayak gitu. Hahaha. Ga yakin sih berani ato nggak.

Kembali ke leptop. Endingnya? Kapalnya tenggelem, si cowok dapet si cewek, musiknya jalan terus, blablabla, pokoknya lagu rock ama pop jadi tambah populer.

Hasil reviewnya Rotten Tomatoes: 60%. Reviewers pada bilang ni film bosenin. Iya, betul, gw ngaku, ni film emang bosenin. Ni film bikin gw duduk didepan tv sambil makan kacang jadi pergi ke toilet. Ga menarik sih! Hahaha. Akhirnya gw ganti nonton MU VS CHELSEA di TPI, terus ngelanjutin review gw ini make wiki.

Eh, btw, MU BIKIN GOL DI DETIK KE 42! HAHAHA, MAKAN TUH PASKAL!

kok BP sih gambarnya? tau ah...

My Powerful Opinion On Indonesian Movie Theater Business.

Indonesia. The 4th largest populated country in the world. If a country have

many citizens, then the country must have many theaters, right? That is not

Indonesia. Movie theaters only available in large, metropolitan cities like Jakarta or

Surabaya. How can it keep up with the production of movies that keeps getting

bigger and bigger? And how can people have something different to watch than

TV's soap operas?.

In Indonesia, there are 2 major movie theater chains. It were the 21Cineplex

and Blitzmegaplex. In the newspapers, movie advertising only appeared on the last

3 pages of it. And local newspaper even did not show any advertisement about

movie theaters. Since this have happened for years, people starts to lose their

interest in watching movies. They prefer watching dramas and reality shows on the

television. Compared to the United States, we lack of interest in local movies. In the

US, they show movie trailers during commercial breaks on TV.

If we want to gain people interest in watching movies in the movie theaters,

probably you might think of making more movie studios. However, that is not

enough. We also have to make people aware of the new movies that just came up.

Make a huge billboard. Get their attention. And the last method of getting people's

attention is by showing local movie trailers on TV, just like what they did in the

United States.

Buying an original movie is so hard for people in Indonesia, because it is

expensive and have the same quality with pirated DVDs. Because of that, they

prefer waiting for those pirated DVDs to be in the store and buy them, rather than

watching the movie in the theaters. By reducing the price of an original movie,

maybe people can start to buy them and notice how good they are. And because

they have notice how good the movies are, maybe they could start waiting for new

movies to appear on the theaters, not cheap pirated DVDs.

Oh yeah, by the way Indonesian movie directors LOVE to make cheap horror

movies with some pretty teenagers being scared by the ghost. Why? Why do they

love making that? I read an interview by Kompas newspaper a few week ago about

a famous Indonesian horror movie director. She says that, "We have a huge market

on Hong Kong, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cambodia. They loved to watch

Indonesian horror. So, i give them their movies.". How can a movie with some porn

elements in it get pass through the censors? People like something different, and

by different i mean different genres. Start making action movies. I guarantee you

can get people's attention to watch movies.

In the end, we have people's attention. To support that, we have to make more

movie theaters. And that is how to finish this lack of movie theaters problem. I

believe this can revive the long lost industry of Indonesian moviemaking.

Viva La Vida Lyrics Meaning

Many months ago, I posted the song "Viva La Vida" with its lyrics in my blog. Now, i'm going to give you its meaning.

The first part before the chorus tell us about the feeling of joy that we lost sometime.
We all have gone through it before. We used to rule our own world. But that was when we were a child. When time changes, our environment changes too. We have more homeworks, projects, and deadlines. The phrase, "And I discovered that my castle stand, upon pillars of salt, pillars of sand,"  told us about the time we grow up and received those "grown up" stuff.

The chorus tell us about the sins we've made, even though when we were in joy. We make sins, every single day. Everyone in the world have make sins. The second chorus have a different phrase than the first one. It says, "I know Saint Peter won't call my name,". It meant that we may not realized it yet, but we have make many sins throughout our lives.

The second part after the chorus tell us about the downfall in ourselves. I think it was between year 17 of our lives. The world show us the misery and stress in our surroundings. One part says, "Revolutionaries wait, for my head in the silver plate," it simply means that after the mistakes we've make, we have to face the punishment for that mistakes.

What Is Descriptive Writing? What Is It? Is It Good? Oh, just read this post.

Descriptive Writing

Descriptive Writing is a writing method that is used to explain an object. It uses real fact, and is more official. Usually it is used by an author or writer to create a sense of feeling or help the reader to imagine what is the author explaining about. Like when J.K. Rowling wrote about the fictive Harry Potter in 1993, she described him as an intelligent, brave, and courage young pre-teenager that have a lot of confrontations. When it was published, it generated a major success and "Wizard Fever" all around the world. So a little method can create a huge impact on our writings.

Sensory Details

Sensory Details is what authors use to generate the scene in the readers mind. It explain all the touches, sounds, sights, smells, or taste that the character senses during the story.  It basically put the reader inside the story, since they can imagine what is it like to get inside the story. It is really useful when you're writing a narrative story or fictive writings. Well, i guess that's all i can say in this post. Stay tuned, goodbye, HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

Haha, 2 Truths and 1 Lie.

Okay. This post is about a game called "2 Truths and 1 Lie". I've never played this game before, until Mr. Yudhi introduced it to me during writing class. The rules are quite simple. Each player writes 3 stories, 2 of them are true. Then, the player read it to the other players and the other players must decide which one is the lie. I guess the winner is the one who can guess the most lies.

A few weeks ago, I played that game with my friends at writing class. The game was quite interesting to me, because my friends are telling fake stories, that seemed impossible for it to be true. But guess what? I got wrong a few times. Haha.

The fake story that I wrote was actually a true story that I changed so it became a fake story.

I can't tell you my story, because right now i still cannot recall it. Just wait for a new post to show up on my blog, and it will be about my story. Your job is to decide which one is the lie.
